Santagostino Baglio Sorìa Red 2006 (Nero D’Avola - Syrah) won 91 points in the wine magazine Wine Spectator, ranking 50th in the annual roundup of the year’s 100 most exciting wines (“The top 100 of 2008”) selected during the year 2008 in blind tastings of approximately 19.500 wines from around the world. The final list has been narrowed down based on four criteria: quality of the wine, value for money (final retail price), availability of the product on the market, an X-factor called excitement. The final decision on the score reflects the discretion of each member of the tasting board.
