Coffee water-ice – Granita di caffè

Ingredients for 4 servings

  • 7 oz of caster sugar
  • 1 cup of strong coffee
  • whipped cream

Water-ice with brioches is the typical summer breakfast of Sicilians.
Prepare the syrup melting the sugar in 2 cups of water and let it simmer for a couple of minutes, then switch off the flame, let it cool down and add the coffee. Put the mix in an aluminium container, put it in the freezer and stir frequently to leave it grainy. Serve whipped cream, if desired.
