BIOGRAPHY OF THE PAINTER
Rosa Maria Ponte, graduated in Foreign Literatures from the University
of Palermo, and has translated the literature of French and
Russian

many paintings are inspired by these travels. She began her
painting
career in
the 1970's with exhibitions in Palermo followed by other Italian
cities, including: Rome, Milan,
Turin, Florence, Trieste, Prizzi, and Castronovo. Her works can
be found in private and public collections in Italy, Greece and
the USA. For the opening of the modern amphitheater of Prizzi opened
in 2002 Rosa Maria Ponte painted the scenery and designed the costumes
for the Greek
tragedy "Medea". Rosa and her husband, Carmelo Fucarino,

TESTIMONIES OF THE ARTISTIC QUALITY OF ROSA MARIA PONTE
I have seen Rosa Ponte's outstanding works of art. She is truly
artistic, creative and colorful. Her paintings reflect a deep
and rich thought into all that she had evidences. The colors
are
vibrant, alive and festive. Truly a grand artist! And, she
is ever so proud
and reflective of her rich and colorful work.
Joseph Sciame
Experiencing Rosa Maria Ponte's work is to share in her tremendous
zest for life. The world she creates is that of which dreams
are
made of. Her use of color brings vibrancy and life to each
of her creations, as they illustrate her deep appreciation
and respect of
diverse cultures. Rosa's joyful spirit and her magnificent
images will forevermore be with me. Brava e grazie, Rosa!

Recently, Joseph Sciame the National Past President of the
Order of Sons of Italy in America invited my father and me
to a reunion of all former Prizzi citizens in the New York
area. We met
the Mayor of Prizzi, the honourable Luigi Vallone. The Mayor
was in New York City with the
author Prof. Carmelo Fucarino who was speaking about a
reference book he wrote on the history of Prizzi. Mayor Vallone
is the cousin of former New York City Council President Peter
Vallone, who also attended this happy event. At that time,
I noticed the outstanding work of artist Rosa Maria Ponte,
a most talented and creative artist of our current times, both
in Italy and now in America.
