	Antonio Liberto was born in Cefalu in 1939, and lives and works in Palermo. Since 1959, Antonio has dedicated himself both to painting and his career as a teacher of art, which he retired from in 1996, after more than 35 years. He has spent a great deal of his extensive career focused on the neofigurative style, even though he has also taken the occasional diversion into pop art and other less formal approaches to painting. A member of many of the most prestigious art associations in Italy and the rest of Europe, Antonio Liberto is the illustrator of various books and periodicals, and has also designed murals and restoration projects. His work has been shown in many cities throughout Italy. Antonino Liberto nasce a Cefalù nel 1939. Vive ed opera a Palermo. Compie gli studi artistici a Palermo. Dal 1959 si dedica sia alla pittura che alla carriera di insegnante di materie artistiche che conclude nel 1996. Nel corso della sua lunga attività artistica iniziata nel 1960 incentrando la sua ricerca prevalentemente alla neofigurazione (anche se non mancano ottimi spunti informali nel corso di tutta la sua attività artistica in particolare nell’ambito della pop art) partecipando alle più impegnative rassegne di arte figurative in Italia e all’estero. Ha illustrato diverse copertine di libri e riviste, ha realizzato numerosi “murales” in Sicilia e alcuni restauri. Ha esposto le sue opere in diverse città italiane.
