Cantine Gulino is located in the historic Fanusa neighborhood of Syracuse, which includes the entire coastal area and is where the region's vineyards were first cultivated in 1600.
Our company's lands were planted with vineyards until 1850, when an epidemic of phylloxera destroyed that cultivar. In the year 1900, our forefathers replanted vineyards with the graft of an American vine and they were grown as Moscato and Nero d’Avola.
In 1950, the wine estate was re-dedicated to horticulture and recently, in 1995, the descendants and current owners revived the ancient tradition by restoring a landmark building on the property built by renowned architect, Pompeo Picherali, a central figure in the efforts to rebuild Syracuse after the devastating earthquake of 1693, giving new life to an historical patrimony of the city. |

Grape Varieties: Nero d'Avola
Classification: IGT Sicilia
Alcohol: 14% by vol.
A Greek term (oak) to indicate and exalt our Nero d’Avola purity. The pedo-climatic characteristics, the careful selection of grapes and the scrupulous processes of vinification and fining for 12 months in “Allier” oak barriques, confer to Drüs a soft structure, elegant tannins and intense perfumes of blackberries. |

Grape Varieties: Insolia - Fiano
Classification: IGT Sicilia
Alcohol: 13% by vol.
A Latin term to describe the elegance, the refinement, and the sobriety of the white precious grapes from Sicily. The union between tradition and innovation used from the harvesting to the vinification in our winery, creates this charming and panderer white wine, persistent in taste with notes of flowers. A wine that astounds for its well-balanced savoriness.

Grape Varieties: Moscato di Siracusa
Classification: DOC
Alcohol: 14% by vol.
It is identified as the most ancient wine of Italy. In the 7th century it was called Pollio, from the name of King Tracio Pollio who ruled Syracuse. The Moscato grapes, from which it originates, give an intense perfume of honey and ripe fruit such as figs and dates. A dessert and meditation wine should be tasted fresh to appreciate its perfumes and fragrance. |
