Mr Giuseppe Milazzo

Azienda Agricola Milazzo, located in the hills northeast of Campobello, Licata, has cultivated vineyards and produced wine for many years. The vines are a passion shared enthusiastically by the current owner, Giuseppe Milazzo with his forefathers, who planted them more than 150 years ago on this site so exceptionally suited to wine grape cultivation. The Milazzo estate extends for nearly 70 hectares (almost 173 acres) and represents a fraction of the famous former Barony of Ravanusa, a vast territory of wine production where the best autochthonic varieties were cultivated and where some of today’s most essential varieties are grown for the development of the highest quality wines. Recently, experimentations and studies have focused on both the best cultivation of particular vines and the precise blend proportions to achieve in order to produce an optimal sparkling wine according to the "Classic Method". In light of such research, the Milazzo family has succeeded in producing very healthy vines with a high total acidity: 8.4 – 11.5 g/l with a gradation 16 – 18.5 on the Babo Scale.
