Sicily is blessed with
all the natural elements necessary, including the wind and the
sun, on which the winegrower relies for the production of quality
grapes.
Casa Vinicola Firriato, which is in the heart of the region with
the densest concentration of vineyards in Italy, was created during
the mid 1980s. The strength of this company is its youth and its
producers, Salvatore and Vinzia Di Gaetano, that synthesized their
entrepreneurial spirit in tenacity and determination.
They firmly believe that succeeding in using the resources of one
of the most suitable territories in the world for wine growing
can lead to the production not only of high quality grapes but
also of great wines.
The philosophy of the company is the following:
- the enhancement of autochthon grapes,
- the use of international vines best suited to Sicilian conditions,
- a focused marketing together with a pricing strategy based on
the best relation price/quality. |

SANTAGOSTINO
Baglio Soria - RED 2005 |

It seemed to everyone
to be an impossible enterprise to improve on what was
considered the top of the top Sicilian red wines of the new generation. But we
have. It is even more intense and with a deep ruby red colour, beautiful notes
of
mature red fruits, and an underlying hint of spices conferred by these
exceptional grapes. The palate notes the caressing elegant tannins that give
it a
long, warm persistent finish, making it stand out in a world context.

ALTAVILLA
DELLA CORTE - WHITE 2006 |

|
A variety
with an extraordinary, universal appeal: Grillo 100 %. First
brought to Sicily by the Phoenicians, it has managed to survive
since then by appealing to countless generations of winedrinkers.
First of all it entices with its brilliant golden colour;
then seduces with its intoxicating and complex aromas of
almonds, apples, white flowers with hints of sage, thyme
and rosemary. The palate shows Grillo's noble breed with
a full, yet caressing structure. Finally, the perfect equilibrium
of fruit, texture and acidity crown Grillo's natural birth
right as a wine of unique character.
