Cantine Gulino
Cantine Gulino is located in the historic Fanusa neighborhood of Syracuse, which includes the entire coastal area and is where the region's vineyards were first cultivated in 1600. Our company's lands were planted with vineyards until 1850, when an epidemic of phylloxera destroyed that cultivar. In 1950, the wine estate was re-dedicated to horticulture and recently, in 1995, the descendants and current owners revived the ancient tradition. More...
Azienda Agricola Mosè - Efésto
For the first time in the USA. One pioneering producer, Mr. Giuseppe "Pippo" Musumeci, took the leap from life-long grape cultivator to wine producer and bottler, and became an early proponent of the eventual new D.O.C. designation for Etna Rosso. His wine production company, Azienda Agricola Mosè, managed by his son Rosario, developed the delicious Efésto as a tribute to the rich history of both the grape and the landscape. We had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Musumeci personally and visited his vineyard in the mountainside village of Sant'Alfio in the province of Catania, a genuine family estate complete with rustic farmhouse and a 200-year-old working press.
